Communities United, Inc. appreciates the generosity of individuals, organizations, businesses, and community partners who support our mission through charitable contributions.

 

Donations

Contributions made to Communities United, Inc. are intended to support the organization's charitable mission, programs, services, operations, and community initiatives.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of contribution, donations are considered voluntary charitable contributions and are generally nonrefundable once processed.

 

Donation Errors and Unauthorized Transactions

If you believe a donation was made in error, submitted more than once, or made without authorization, please contact Communities United, Inc. as soon as possible.

Requests concerning duplicate transactions, unauthorized transactions, or processing errors will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

To assist us in reviewing a request, please provide:

• Donor name

• Date of transaction

• Donation amount

• Email address used for the transaction

• Transaction or confirmation number, if available

• Description of the issue

 

Communities United, Inc. reserves the right to request additional information reasonably necessary to verify a transaction.

 

Refund Determinations

Approved refunds, when applicable, will generally be returned to the original payment method used for the contribution. Processing times may vary depending on the donor's financial institution or payment processor.

 

Tax-Deductibility

Communities United, Inc. will provide appropriate donation receipts or acknowledgments as applicable.

Donors are responsible for determining the tax treatment of their contributions and should consult their tax advisor regarding deductibility.

For certain charitable contributions, federal tax law requires specific documentation or written acknowledgment. Communities United, Inc. will provide required documentation applicable to the contribution.

 

Donations Made in Exchange for Goods or Services

If Communities United, Inc. provides goods, services, benefits, or other consideration in connection with a payment, the payment may constitute a charitable contribution that is partially or entirely different from a purely charitable donation.

Where applicable, Communities United, Inc. will provide the disclosures required by law regarding the estimated value of goods or services provided.
